NFLPA and East-West Shrine Bowl Partner to Enhance All-Star Experience

ARLINGTON, TEXAS (Sept. 4, 2024) —The East-West Shrine Bowl, the nation’s oldest college all-star football game, has officially partnered with the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) for the second consecutive year to provide substantial educational resources to athletes throughout the 100th annual game in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex..

This official partnership continues the NFLPA and Shriners Children’s special relationship, enhancing the Shrine Bowl in a way that is substantial and unique as compared to any other all-star event. Through the NFLPA’s involvement, participants will have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of what it takes to succeed as a professional football player, both on and off the field. Current and former NFL players as well as NFLPA leadership will serve as featured speakers during panels and activations throughout the week of the Shrine Bowl to educate and empower the athletes.

“We are thrilled to continue with the NFLPA as an official partner of the East-West Shrine Bowl,” said Bob Roller, Vice President of Sports for Shriners Children’s. “The NFLPA’s presence throughout our event was a tremendous experience for our athletes in 2024, and we look forward to growing our partnership to uniquely enhance opportunities for our 2025 players to succeed as they embark upon their professional careers.”

At the 2024 event, the NFLPA’s speakers included current and former NFL players, NFL Hall of Famers, and NFLPA leadership, sharing with players about their upcoming journey in the NFL, and what life after football will be. In furtherance of this continued partnership, the NFLPA aims to provide the 2025 Shrine Bowl players with a crash course of information, speakers and exposure as they position themselves to make the next step in their football journey.

“Continuing this partnership with the Shrine Bowl was an easy decision because it reinforces the core values of our union,” said Matt Curtin, President of NFL Players Inc. “The impact that Shriners Children’s has on communities across the country mirrors the positive effect that the East-West Shrine Bowl has on our future player members, and we’re excited to once again be a part of that experience.”

The 100th annual East-West Shrine Bowl will kickoff Thursday, January 30, 2025 in Arlington, Texas, at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys and in one of the premier sports venues in the world. The game will be nationally televised in primetime on NFL Network. Proceeds from the game will fully benefit the life-changing mission of Shriners Children’s.
